Harry Oakes
Harry is a project manager and senior restoration ecologist based in Sacramento, California. With over 30 years of experience in habitation restoration planning, he manages and works on multidisciplinary teams with a focus on habitat mitigation design, construction, and mitigation monitoring and reporting. Harry identifies mitigation opportunities and develops strategies with a focus on riparian, wetland, stream restoration, and oak woodland mitigation projects. He prepares environmental documents, habitat restoration plans, construction plans and specifications, and mitigation and monitoring plans. He performs vegetation monitoring, data analysis, prepares monitoring reports, and identifies remedial measures. Harry’s background in restoration implementation and maintenance and wildlife biology facilitates the development of restoration plans and the evaluation of post-construction establishment.
Through the University of California, Davis, Harry taught courses on habitat restoration planning and design; he has also presented papers and moderated technical sessions at conferences of the California Society for Ecological Restoration. Harry is the former Director and Past-President of the California Society for Ecological Restoration.
